The Good Dad

Fathers Day came and went last weekend as it does every year. This year I had the opportunity to reflect upon some things that were very important to me. I made a list to reaffirm who and what I am in this world to my children. I believe every dad should compile a list like this to help keep him grounded when others seek to disparage his accomplishments.
I am a good father
I don't smoke
I don't gamble away my paycheck
I don't do drugs
I don't womanize
I don't beat my wife
I don't abuse my children
I have a job
I provide to the best of my ability for my family
I spend time with my children and family
I volunteer time in my community
I try to make life better for my children and family.
Should you be told one day that you are a poor husband, father and provider and that you are wishy washy, spinelesss with no back bone, then refer quickly to your list and know that they are not only wrong but make judgements unburdened by the facts.
